The Glasgow Clan will celebrate St.Andrews day with a match against the Coventry Blaze this Friday night at the Braehead Arena!

Our Match Night Live Reporter, David Marshall (@marshalldave38), takes a look at some of the key men from this weekend’s opponents.

#1 Alex Nikiforuk – F

The top scorer for the Coventry Blaze will come into Friday night’s game with 24 points (eight goals and 16 assists).

Nikiforuk is playing his first season in Coventry arriving from French side Epinal in the summer. However, he does have experience of playing in the Elite League before. The 35-year-old Canadian spent the 2016/17 season at the Nottingham Panthers, who he helped to win the Continental Cup.

The two teams met last at the start of the month in a double header, the Blaze came up short on both occasions but Nikiforuk scored two goals.

#2 Tim Crowder – F

Crowder brings a wealth of experience to the Blaze after spending his career playing across North America and Europe. The 32-year-old leads his team in goals with 10, his total points tally sits at 23 with 13 assists.

He is a NCAA champion and also won the French Cup while at Angers in 2014. The Clan already know the danger that Crowder brings in front of goal, he scored the equalising goal as the Blaze beat the Clan 2-1 in Coventry at the end of September.

#3 Nicolai Bryhnisveen – D

The Norwegian, two-way defenseman is playing his first season in Coventry and comes to the Blaze with a good pedigree and impressive CV to back him up. The 27-year-old has played in the top flight in Norway, Sweden, Finland and the Czech Republic.

The numbers for Bryhnisveen have been impressive so far. He has racked up 12 points with four goals and eight assists and has a +/- stat of eight.
