GAME DAY: Boyd positive ahead of Manchester game

February 8, 2017

NEXT HOME GAME: Make THIS WEDNESDAY a Purple one with the Braehead Clan. The Manchester Storm are visitors to Braehead Arena (7:30pm face-off) in another game that can see us extend our lead even further at the top of the Gardiner Conference. Tickets are available NOW via TICKETMASTER, by calling 0844 499 1700 or direct at the box office.

Glasgow’s Braehead Clan forward Callum Boyd says staying positive is the key as the team look to climb the Elite League table further.

The Clan host Manchester Storm tonight (7:30pm face-off) with two league and Gardiner Conference points up for grabs.

Boyd reckons victory over Omar Pacha’s men can set the tone ahead of this weekend’s home double header with Edinburgh Capitals and Coventry Blaze.

“Manchester are a good team and not a team to be underestimated,” Boyd said. “It’s important we shut them down and stop them from doing what they do.

“They’re a strong team with good offensive lines. If we start like we did against Belfast, it’s important we hold for the full game and don’t let them in the way Giants did.

“Every game is getting bigger and bigger and we want to finish the season as strong as we can and go as high as we can.

“We have to get as much points as we can and playing positive makes such a difference, especially this late in the season.

“The game against Manchester will set the tempo for the rest of the week. If we do well, it will make feel better going into the two home games this weekend.”
