MILTON KEYNES LIGHTNING 2 GLASGOW CLAN 4

Glasgow Clan made it two wins from three this weekend to take five points from a possible six to get to within three points of Nottingham Panthers in third place.

After the overtime loss in Fife on Saturday, Clan dusted themselves down when they visited the team at the bottom of the table and got the reaction they were looking for.

However, it was tough going to start with as Lightning were looking to snap a horrendous run of nine straight losses.

They went ahead at the tail end of the first period as Radek Meidl struck for the home side to have a single goal lead.

Clan were able to get back on level terms with a powerplay goal six minutes after the restart when Guillaume Doucet netted on a five-on-three, with Craig Peacock getting the assist.

Within a minute, Glasgow had turned the game around in their favour through Gerard Hanson and from there, there was no danger of the lead being given up.

Another from Doucet against his former club opened up a two-goal lead and the visitors had strengthened their position going into the second break.

David Norris was on target for the home side as they cut the arrears to one to make the contest a little more closer.

But Hanson’s second killed them off on the empty net to secure two more points and complete the five-point haul from a productive weekend for Glasgow Clan.
