Matt Beca’s two goals and three assists made it a great night for Glasgow Clan as they beat Milton Keynes Lightning 6-3.

After the heartache of an overtime loss to Sheffield Steelers the night before, Clan wiped that from their personal hard drives as they took the points over Milton Keynes Lightning in convincing fashion.

And Beca was the man to provide the remedy, taking his weekend points total to seven with four goals and three assists.

Matt Haywood hit the post with an early chance, but it took the home side 14 mintues to break the deadlock when Scott Pitt set up Beca, who came in from the right and coolly backhanded his finish past MK goalie Adam Goss.

Glasgow thought they had a second immediately after when Craig Peacock forced the puck over the line, but a review deemed the goals had shifted before the puck crossed the line.

The visitors levelled in the second period when Michael Fine tucked away a rebound after Joel Rumpel, in the Clan goal, had blocked an effort from Eric Neiley.

But the home side restored the lead when Beca teed up Pitt for a piledriver for the go-ahead goal, then Vaclav Stupka’s pass from behind the goal allowed Travis Ehrhardt to blast in from the slot.

Beca got his fourth point and second goal of the night when he slotted past Goss to open up a three-goal lead as Clan looked more than good for it by the end of the second period.

Josh Gratton made it 5-1 after he robbed Fine and made his way to the MK goal, where he expertly completed the finish.

MK egded themselves back into the game with quickfire goals from Georgs Golovkovs and Fine, with his second.

But Gratton’s second of the night with a one-time blast ended the game in the best possible way, as Clan ended a five-game run in the last eight days with seven points out of 10.
