Glasgow’s Braehead Clan Hockey & Operations Director Gareth Chalmers has called on the club to finish the season off in style.

The Clan face the Dundee Stars over two legs this weekend, as they look to make the EIHL’s final four playoff final weekend for the first time since 2014.

“We’ve got two massive games coming up this weekend against Dundee.” said Chalmers. “It’s a pivotal part of not only our season but also our short history – we need to continue to progress.

“The club have had two very disappointing losses to the Hull Stingrays and Fife Flyers over the past two years. As an organisation we’re all very confident of changing that this year.

“We need to take advantage of the seeding advantage of winning the Gardiner Conference, as from next season, whatever happens is certainly going to change that.”

Chalmers also went on to call on the Purple Army to show out in force on Sunday for the 2nd leg at Braehead Arena (6:00pm face-off).

“We faced Nottingham in the second leg in 2014 on home ice, I’ll never forget the atmosphere that night – lets create that again this Sunday.

“It’s been a difficult season, we set out high ambitions and didn’t achieve those. It’s important for everyone that we finish the season off with a bit of style.

“The Purple Army can have a major part to play this weekend, everyone at the club wants to make the playoff final weekend for the fans – lets do this together!”
