After a hectic festive schedule, the Glasgow Clan have suffered a setback on the injury front ahead of this weekend’s home games against the Cardiff Devils and Milton Keynes Lightning.

Canadian defenceman Tyson Wilson is likely to be out of action for 2 to 3 weeks after picking up an upper body injury in Belfast.

Furthermore, following last weekend’s tough games against Dundee and Coventry, Czech defenceman Michal Gutwald has also sustained an injury which is being assessed daily by the club’s medical team.

Following today’s training session at Braehead Arena, head coach Pete Russell commented on the situation:

“After a very hectic festive period we have a few guys carrying knocks. Every team goes through it but we are starting to have a few guys out and playing through pain.

“The main one right now is Tyson Wilson who will be missing for a couple of weeks with an upper body injury. He is a big loss on the back end.

“Our medical team are working daily around the clock with other players to keep them on the ice and performing to their highest possible level.

“While it’s a setback, we have a hardworking group of guys here that want to win for the club, we’ll approach the weekend fully focused on building on our recent good form.”
