NEXT HOME GAME: The Guildford Flames make their first EVER visit to Braehead Arena THIS SUNDAY (6:00pm face-off). The EIHL’s newcomers come to Castle Clan for an exciting NEW match-up. Tickets are available NOW via TICKETMASTER, by calling 0844 499 1700 or direct at the Braehead Arena box office.

Glasgow’s Braehead Clan defenceman Michal Gutwald says he’s excited for Sunday’s home game at Guildford Flames where he’ll get to meet the Purple Army properly.

The 24-year-old has been in Scotland for a week now after moving to the Elite League and made his debut in last Saturday’s 5-2 win at Edinburgh Capitals.

He admits he was impressed with the travelling contingent that made their way to Murrayfield last week.

“I had my first game last week and for me, there was a lot to process, but I was trying to focus on my game as well as the team’s objective,” he said.

“We did well and got the points, so I enjoyed it. Plus I liked the amount of fans that came to see us in Edinburgh.

“I’m looking forward to seeing all the fans in our home game on Sunday and I hope a lot of people will be attending after not seeing us for a couple of weeks. I’m excited for it.

“We have two games this week and we go to Nottingham Panthers and I know they’re a good team, who did very well in the Champions Hockey League.

“Their rink will be tough, but we’ve been preparing for it the whole week so I hope we can do something before we come home on Sunday.”
