New head coach Pete Russell is delighted with the first three days of training camp as the Glasgow Clan prepare for their opening Summer Series games at Braehead Arena this weekend.

German DEL team the Fischtown Pinguins visit Glasgow on Saturday (7:00pm face-off) with the Dresden Eislöwen visiting just under 24 hours later on Sunday (6:00pm face-off).

“I have been absolutely delighted with the first couple of days here, I arrived up to Glasgow on Friday and since the moment I got here everything has been first class” confirmed Russell.

“When you’re in this environment you can see why this is seen as one of the top organisations in the EIHL, the professionalism and eye for detail has been very impressive.

“From the apartments, to the cars, to the equipment, to the facility and surrounding area – everyone is very well looked after here by the management and staff.

“We had an excellent day on Saturday where we took all the players, staff and families for a meal in Glasgow and we already seem to have a great family feel to the club.

“Now the hard work starts, we’re down in Dumfries today where we’ll have two ice sessions plus a further team building exercise for all the guys to get to know each other even further.

“I am really excited to get the games going now, we have a very tough but very exciting weekend coming up against two top German teams.”
