Glasgow’s Braehead Clan’s first weekend on the road ended in disappointment as Dundee Stars helped their play-off hopes with a 4-1 win on Tayside.

Clan were keen to get back to winning ways after suffering a narrow loss at Nottingham Panthers on Friday

Stars drew first blood during the opening period when Cale Tanaka found the net to give them the advantage going into the first interval.

They added a second early in the middle session as Vinny Scarsella sent an effort into the roof of the net on the powerplay as Braehead found themselves facing another deficit.

But the visitors managed to get themselves back into the game when Cody Carlson was assisted by Scott Aarssen to close the gap to one.

Alex Leavitt’s night came to a premature when he was given a five plus game penalty for charging following a hit on the Stars captain Joey Sides.

However Stars reinstated their two-goal lead with Scarsella the man responsible as the home side moved 3-1 in front during the third period.

Jay Rosehill was soon ejected for abuse of official after initially picking up a high sticks call, but Stars moved further ahead with a goal by Justin Faryna to effectively seal the points in the end.
