The Glasgow Clan are delighted to announce the signing of 31-year-old Swedish forward Mikael Lidhammar for the 2019/20 season.
Mikael joins from Romanian side ASC Corona Brasov who compete in the Erste Liga, where he was a team-mate of former Clan defencemen Cody Carlson and Craig Cescon last season.
The Swede was the sides second highest point scorer in 2018/19 with 25 goals and 24 assists in 51 Erste Liga games.
No stranger to the EIHL, Mikael has previously played for the Dundee Stars from 2015 to 2017 and then the Guildford Flames during season 2017/18.
Clan Head Coach Zack Fitzgerald is looking forward to the grit, points, and versatility of the 6’ 0” forward:
“Mikael is a versatile winger who plays hard all game.” confirmed Fitzgerald.
“He comes with a lot of EIHL experience, where he has put up good points. He is gritty and skilled, but most importantly always comes with a hard-work ethic.
“He is difficult to play against and anchors down our left side. We are over the moon to have signed Mikael to the Clan for this upcoming season”
Mikael will wear #21 for the upcoming season.
Mikael becomes the Clan’s fourteenth player for 2019/20, following confirmation that Patrick Killeen, Matt Pufahl, Matt Beca, Rasmus Bjerrum, Jack Musil, Craig Peacock, Scott Pitt, Scott Tanski, Craig Moore, Linden Springer, Jordan Heywood and Jordan McLaughlin and Matt Stanisz having already put pen to paper.
