SIGNED: Clan sign Guillaume Doucet from Milan

The Glasgow Clan are delighted to announce the signing of Guillaume Doucet for the remainder of the 2018/19 season.

The 32-year-old forward joins from Alps Hockey League team Milano Rossoblu where he started the season.

Doucet is no stranger to the EIHL having initially joined the Hull Stingrays back in 2013, before going onto to play for the Nottingham Panthers and Cardiff Devils.

Last season the Canadian iced for the Milton Keynes Lightning under current Clan head coach Pete Russell.

“I am delighted to add forward Guillaume Doucet to our group for the remainder of the season” confirmed Russell. “We are lucky to add a player of Guillaume’s calibre at this stage of the season.

“I have worked with ‘Douce’ before and obviously know his character and game very well. He scores goals everywhere he goes. He is a sniper and finds good spots, works hard for the team and is a great team-mate.

“To pick-up a right shot forward is a big bonus for us as we’ve been looking for one for a while. When I reached out to ‘Douce’ to see what his situation was, we completed the deal in a couple of hours on Wednesday. He is very excited to be coming to Glasgow and back to the UK.

“He will bring a different punch to our offence, he is a honest player on and off the ice. I have no doubts the guys in the locker room and the Purple Army will love him.”

Doucet is set to fly into the UK next week ahead of our pre-Christmas games against Fife and Sheffield.

Doucet will wear #52 and be sponsored by Beatson Cancer Charity.
