July 17, 2019

PRE-SEASON: It’s almost time! Keep an eye on the Clan social media & website for ticket details for Glasgow Clan v EHC Freiburg on the 24th & 25th August…

Glasgow Clan are delighted to announce that long-serving Scottish netminder Gary Russell has signed a two-way deal which will see him split his time between the Clan and our NIHL affiliates, the Solway Sharks during the upcoming 2019/20 season.

The 29-year-old shot-stopper will train with the Clan during the week and also serve as additional injury cover if either Patrick Killeen or Jordan McLaughlin we’re unavailable to ice. Russell will spend the majority of his game time with the Sharks.

Since joining back in the summer of 2015, Gary has played 39 EIHL games for the Clan and during that time has become a firm fan favourite.

Gary becomes the Clan’s seventeenth player for 2019/20, following confirmation that Patrick Killeen, Matt Pufahl, Matt Beca, Rasmus Bjerrum, Jack Musil, Craig Peacock, Scott Pitt, Scott Tanski, Craig Moore, Linden Springer, Jordan Heywood, Jordan McLaughlin, Mikael Lidhammar, Nolan LaPorte, Mathieu Roy and Matt Stanisz having already put pen to paper.

Please note that due to our inability to confirm ice time for the player and us not being able to guarantee his attendance at events, the club have taken the decision to withhold all Own & Loan & Kit Klub packages from sale for Gary.
