The Glasgow Clan are delighted to announce the signing of defenceman Linden Springer from the Manchester Storm for 2019/20.

The 24-year-old, Alberta, Canada native, moves to Glasgow following two season’s in the EIHL where he became a firm Manchester fan favourite.

Prior to heading to the UK, the Canadian had played for Lakehead University in USports as well as the Prince George Cougars in the WHL.

During 107 games for the Storm, Springer scored 6 goals and assisted on 23 others, while sitting 336 minutes in the penalty box.

Zack Fitzgerald is delighted to welcome Springer as his first signing as the new Clan Head Coach:

“Springer for me is a great signing. He is a player that brings physicality, leadership & has a team-first mentality.” confirmed Fitzgerald.

He is young, full of energy and will complement the attitude we have here on and off the ice with our core group of guys.

“It’s important we have guys here, that will bring character, play with an edge and keep opposition teams looking over their shoulders – with Linden I know we’ve got this.

“I couldn’t be more pleased to have him wear a Clan jersey this season. The Purple Army will enjoy his style of play and the character that he is.

Linden will wear #27 for the Clan.

Linden is the 8th signing so far for Clan in 2019/20 after Patrick Killeen, Scott Tanski, Craig Moore, Scott Pitt, Rasmus Bjerrum, Craig Peacock and Matt Stanisz have already joined the Clan for the 2019/20 season.
