Glasgow Clan are delighted to announce the signing of two-way defenceman Canadian defenceman #10 Tyson Wilson for the 2018/19 season.
The 27-year-old finished last season with Laval Rocket of the AHL, having played most of the season with Brampton Beast of the ECHL. Tyson has previously iced for the Tulsa Oilers of the ECHL and Manitoba Moose of the AHL since moving into professional hockey from a successful NCAA career with Robert Morris University.
During his stay in Glasgow, Tyson will be studying with Clan partners Glasgow Caledonian University who we would like to thank with their assistance in putting this deal together.
“Tyson skates really well, has an offensive upside, is good defensivley and plays hard in key areas.” Clan head coach Pete Russell stated.
“He has high compete levels, a big body that he uses well and can log good minutes.
“Tyson can play in all situations and has good poise on the power play. He makes good plays and won’t throw the puck away. He is an intelligent player and thats exactly what we were looking for.
This addition adds good depth in talent to our defence core with his ability to play on either side with a lot of confidence.
We look forward to welcoming Tyson to Glasgow and working with him.”
Tyson becomes the eighteenth player to join the Clan for 2018/19 following the signings of Zack Fitzgerald, Scott Pitt, Matt Beca, Matt Stanisz, Michal Gutwald, Liam Heelis, Gerard Hanson, Joel Rumpel, Scott Tanski, Rasmus Bjerrum, Jack Musil, Craig Peacock, Matt Haywood, Zach Sullivan, Mac Howlett, Brendan Connolly and Gary Russell.
